KT: probably would flush the toilet bowl a few times and if the phone is still there, and the coast is clear, retrieve the phone out of the bowl..
YC: would you still use the phone???
KT: scarly something ooze out when you press the button..
MX: after grabbing it out, go trade-in the phone..
WK: or can sell to karang guni.. ask him to test the phone and if it works, take it back from him..

The 3rd issue is out!!! How wonderful is that?!?! =P
In this issue, we'll be sharing updates on our 2008 Chalet-bration! We hope you have marked down this annual Rest&Relax&HaveFun weekend on your calendar!!!
For the benefit of our new powers, also to attract more participants, we are here to provide YOU with some sneak previews to the LOADS of food, fun and laughter!!! (cue to laugh)
2008 Chalet-bration – Overview
Date: 4th July 2008 (Fri evening) to 6th July 2008 (Sun morning)
Venue: Aloha Changi - Cranwell Bungalow 2
The single-storey chalet is fully furnished with a living room set with TV and games table; dining room; 4 air-conditioned bedrooms furnished with either queen or single beds, wardrobe, dresser, bedside table & wall fan; 3 toilets / bath (1 attached) with shower heater; BBQ pit and a fully equipped kitchen.

We also welcome your significant other, sons and daughters, ex-powers, and temp-staff!
Please let us know in your response if your partners/ babies are joining us as well! (We have a bedroom reserved for babies! Playgroup headed by Alan papa!)
For ex-powers and temp-staff, please coordinate on your side and drop us a confirmation on how many will be coming!
2008 Chalet-bration – Activities
Be prepared for loads of fun!
FUN games, and ATTRACTIVE PRIZES to be won throughout the 3day-2night Chalet-bration!
The earlier you join us, the longer you stay and the chalet, the more activities you participate, the higher your chances of walking away with these prizes! What are you still thinking about!
Here’s a broad overview of the activities:
Before 4 July
Participants will be grouped into 4 teams.
Start of Treasure Hunt, and it continues throughout the Chalet-bration
4 July evening (Friday)
Check-in together after work(6pm). 2008 Chalet-bration Commences!
Ice-breaking session, games till late night (taboo, charades, poker card games, etc)
5 July (Saturday)
From noon onwards, a series of indoor and outdoor games with your teams, to earn points!
The team with highest points will be the winner! (remember we mentioned there are attractive prizes??? =P)
Sneak preview to some of the games:
- Dog&Bone
- Human Jackpot
- Captain’s Ball
- Bingo! (with cash prizes)
- Newspaper Squeeze
- Telepathic Band
- Water war
BBQ in the evening till night, with games during BBQ! (BBQ food contest to showcase your culinary skills (or to tekan judges))

2008 Chalet-bration – Budget
Chalet - (2 nights: S$15) (1 night: S$10) (BBQ only: S$5)
Food - (Non-vegetarian: S$10) (Vegetarian: S$5)
So, if you’re staying 2 nights and non-vegetarian, you’ll pay S$15 + S$10 = S$25.
Similarly, if you're staying 2 nights but is vegetarian, amount to pay will be S$15 + S$5 = S$20.
FYI, We’ll start collecting money upon your confirmation of attendance. =)
Note: Partners and ex-powers will pay too, temp-staff and babies free entry.

Currently, the Chalet mini committee is working on marketing, financial and logistics issues.
Judging from the ‘carry-overs’ from last year’s chalet (like disposable forks/ spoons/ chopsticks/ cups/ serviette) we might save a ‘lil bit for more food (haha).
Anyhow, we’ll reveal more information as the days draw near, so please bear with us for the time being.
To the Desktopowers alumni, you’ll be receiving formal invitation from our External Relations Officer (YC) in the near future.

Note: Any special requests like having no bbq food, only drink plain water etc, please inform us as early as possible to help us in our planning!

sTuCk iN tHe LiFt *gasp*
we tried 'intercom-ing' 'someone out there' to get us out, but replies we received were only "we're getting the technician now, please hang on for a while" or "just a minute more, the technician is resetting the lift system" or "technician is on his way (another lady in the lift exclaimed "What?! still on his way?" hearing this comment) just a minute more.." or "about 5 to 10minutes wait, sorry ar, we're getting someone to rescue you out"
well, we did get out eventually, not very happy with the event.. hmmm, mayb we can buy 4D or toto lar, with the numbers... *ponders*
